Birografika BORI's mission
Entrepreneurship with independent economic marketing is a fundamental business operation of ours
as a commercial company despite the fact that we receive certain economic facilities due to our status
as a company employing disabled people. These facilities are a compensation for the slightly lower
productivity of disabled employees and the added costs regarding this type of employment. This, however
does not change the fact that we must cover all our business expenses and accumulate enough assets
for continued technological and human resources development.
Birografika BORI as a company employing disabled people
The idea for the creation of such a company was born at the end of the seventies in the scope of
the Muscular Association of Muscular Disease of Slovenia, known today as the Muscular Dystophy
Association of Slovenia.
Young people with muscular dystrophy as members of this association have recognised that many
social rights are connected with permanent employment. Since advanced dystrophy requires the physical
aid of other people on a twenty-four hour basis they thus, do not have many possibilities of acquiring
permanent employment in an ordinary environment and other positions on the open labour market. This
comprehension led them to activate their own creative potential in the field of business on the market.
The fundamental characteristic of our company as a company employing the disabled is above all,
that production programs are accommodated to the nature of muscular disease which brings with it
progressive disability. This accommodation allows individuals with serious muscular dystrophy , despite
decreasing muscular strength, to stay active in his or her profession for a long time and assure their
own social security. Modern graphics technology especially enables the continuos accommodation of their
job positions due to work efficiency.
Additionally, we have been able to improve relations between the social environment for our
country has been devoting ever more attention to removing communication and physical obstacles,
acquiring technical accessories and other measures which enable disabled people to also enjoy permanent
employment.
We design fundamental programs for complete social immersion which has become one of the leading
values to prevent the break down of social cohesion. We are happy that through our varied dynamic
development we haven't ignored social institutions, but show all the advantages of entrepreneurship
also in the sense of our relationship with the national system of disability security in Slovenia.
Co-operation with other companies employing the disabled
We were one of the founders of the Association of Companies Employing Disabled People in Slovenia
and we unselfishly support its continued operations. In solving systematic questions of our professional
co-workers, no time taken to solve these problems is considered wasted. We believe that only through
teamwork and by together finding effective solutions through the help of the government, parliament
and other competent bodies will companies employing disabled people be able to improve quality of
life for disabled people.
Co-operation between companies employing disabled people has been successfully set up in light
of their status and their special economic position. The next step which includes a common marketing
presentation and brand is still in the creative phase. Individual companies have co-operated in certain
projects, but only the increased size of the European market will create a challenge and lead to
increased business co-operation and a combined market entry.
